Raj is a fierce advocate who helps injured victims and their families understand and navigate the litigation process. He believes in taking the stress associated with litigation away from his clients so they can focus on their health and recovery.
Raj has worked in the insurance industry his entire adult life. Prior to becoming a lawyer, he was employed by several of North America’s largest insurance companies, investigating injury and disability claims. This experience brings a unique insight into his plaintiff injury practice.
Raj handles all types of personal injury claims, including complex files involving wrongful death, brain injury, and spinal cord injury. He also has a special interest in both domestic and international aviation injuries.
No two cases are the same. Raj believes in taking a unique and tailored approach to each file. While most cases can be won expeditiously through informal dispute resolution, others require a more aggressive approach. Raj has conducted a number of trials in response to insurance companies taking unreasonable positions against his clients. For example, in Hadley v. Pabla, 2021 BCSC 238 he obtained a judgment over four times what the insurance company had offered his client before trial.* Raj has also conducted appeal work at the Divisional Court of Ontario and regualrly appears before the Supreme Court of British Columbia, Superior Court of Ontario, and the License Appeal Tribunal.
In his spare time, Raj enjoys downhill skiing, working on his imperfect golf swing, spending quality time with his fiancé, and playing board games with his nieces and nephew.
*past results are not an indication of future results. Each case turns on its own unique set of facts.
