Preszler Donates to Daily Bread Food Bank
To handle the shortages of supplies throughout the country and the world at large during this global crisis, food banks are more important than ever, which is why our firm intends to give back to our community.
TORONTO, ON, MAY 06, 2020 — Preszler Injury Lawyers has decided to donate to the Daily Bread Food Bank in the light of recent events around the globe. Our law firm realizes the severity of the current global pandemic in Toronto and abroad and has chosen to give back to the community in which we have been serving.
In the same way that Preszler Injury Lawyers in Toronto has been serving injured parties in various ways over the years, specifically in the field of personal injury law, they intend to do the same for the Toronto community by giving back in these unique and unfortunate times. For those in need, Preszler Injury Lawyers intends to be there for those who need help the most.
Our firm works with clients nearly every day who have suffered from unnecessary hardships due to no fault of their own. Today, and for the foreseeable future, the world needs a helping hand more than ever. Food banks, like the Daily Bread Food Bank, provide a necessary service to those in need in our community, that we should not undervalue. While we offer many legal services, we believe that the real heroes of our community are the ones putting boots on the ground and helping to keep our community supplied with food, toiletries, and basic needs.
To say that the Daily Bread Food Bank is a noble cause would be an understatement. In 2019 alone, the organization had 11,863 people volunteer, with a total of 29,658 service hours provided. Of those hours, the team raised 13,934 pounds of food for the community in one single annual food drive — and that was in the previous year alone. Every year the organization continues to give back to the communities in which they serve.
For families that need it, a box of food, or even a single collection of house supplies, may make all the difference. According to the Daily Bread Food Bank report, a 2018 survey across 1,400 food bank agencies found that in the past decade alone, there has been a significant rise among food bank needs for individuals who are single and over the age of 45 and older. The end result is families need help, and while there are many groups out there providing assistance to disadvantaged individuals who need it, the assistance just may not be enough.
As a law firm working throughout the Toronto area, we know what it is like to see suffering amongst our people. No matter if it is former clients, people in the stores we frequent, family members, or even those without a place to stay at all, we want to do our part in giving back to our community. Needless to say, there is a lot to be done right now, and while we like to believe that we help in our small field in the greater scheme of things, there is certainly a lot more that we all may be able to do.
At the end of the day, if ever there was a place to make a small act of generosity that had the potential to make a significant change in the lives of those in need around us, it would be with the valiant efforts given by the kindhearted individuals at the Daily Bread Food Bank. By thinking small and looking big, we hope that local companies can follow our example and start widespread acts of kindness that may help us get through these trying times.
Volunteering at a local charity organization, and following health protocols, of course — considering social distancing guidelines — is a great way to make a tangible difference in your community. If you wish to volunteer at the Daily Bread Food Bank, you may contact them today at their volunteer website: https://www.dailybread.ca/volunteer/. Their ultimate goal is to give back to the community a little bit at a time, so we may all feel safe knowing that the Toronto area rests a little easier at night.
